Piano Trio No. 1 In A Minor
Tonal Opus no. 1
The first of what I am calling tonal opuses, this piano trio is one I am especially proud of. It consists of formal structure reminiscent of some of my favorite composers, Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart etc. It consists of several fugues reminiscent of JS Bach.
All around, it is extremely fun and readable. It is therefore an excellent choice for a wide range of skill sets, however, like Mozart, enables a level of musicality to be strived for in excess of such technical challenges.
This work also expresses tidbits of my favorite vocabulary found in more contemporary tonal idioms, including those commonly found in film music.
